Natasha Sweeten is a painter who has, since the pandemic, begun to explore other media (sculpture, film, installation, photography). Born and raised in Kentucky and southern Indiana, she earned a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA from Bard College. Her most recent solo shows were at Marisa Newman Projects (2021) and BravinLee Programs (2022); she has also shown at the Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art, Edward Thorp Gallery and LMAK Gallery. Natasha received a 2006 NYFA Fellowship in Painting and a PS122 Space Program residence (2003-04) and has been granted various artist residencies, including at Yaddo, MacDowell and the Vermont Studio Center. Her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Art in America and the Hudson Review, among other publications. She lives with her family in Brooklyn and Germantown, NY.
